Hooray for the end of another year. I’m going to sound just
like everyone else that says this, but I seriously cannot believe 2014 is over.
Where has the year gone? It still feels like a couple of months ago when I
graduated from high school. I feel like I’ve lost time. But that’s okay,
because there’s been a few great things I’ve been loving this month.
First thing that I’ve loved this month is Josie Maran’s Coconut WatercolourEyeshadow in Rio De Rose Gold. Like I mentioned in my last post, and
probably a couple of posts before that too, I’ve really been loving the ease of
application of this product, and the colour is just perfect for summer. It’s so
coppery and metallic and I feel like anything along this colour vein is the
perfect summer shade. I’ll link the review for my review of the eyeshadow here
so I’m not harping on about it again.
Like the Josie Maran shadow, I’ve also loved using my Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in MyTwo Cents. It’s also a coppery gold shadow. Mine is a tiny sample
version that I got from one of their Famous Eyeshadow sets. But the texture of
this is just so soft and it blends like a dream over the eyelid. I feel it
gives a sheerer wash of colour over the lids than the Josie Maran shadow, so I
use this one when I feel like a little more of an effortless look.
Also, this month I finally managed to get my hands on TheBalm’s Bahama Mama bronzer.
Not that I need another bronzer, but I absolutely needed to try out the bronzer
that has so many people raving. What I love most about this bronzer is that
it’s quite ashy which means it gives a really natural bronzed look to the skin.
It also makes it perfect for contouring, which is probably the main reason I
use bronzers at all. I reckon I’m dark enough as is. Also the thin packaging
makes it really travel friendly.
With the Sephora opening in Australia, I obviously had to
pick up a couple of things which you might’ve seen in my collective haul. One of my favourite things from that haul
was the Tarte Gifted mascara.
It gives great length and separation without sparing on the volume. The skinny
wand makes it easy to manoeuvre as well, and just look at that packaging. What
is not to love? But what I love most about this mascara is that it makes bottom
lashes look incredible. The formula isn’t over clumpy and wet, and combined
with the small wand it’s really easy to apply and those invisible bottom lashes
of yours will become beautiful and luscious.
Also from Sephora is the BiteBeauty Agave Lip Mask in Champagne. Words cannot describe how wonderful
this is. It’s like a super intensive lip balm. I don’t tend to use it everyday,
maybe about once a week or when my lips are feeling like they seriously need so
love. One night with this on and you’ll wake up the next morning with gorgeously
moisturised lips. It’s basically a miracle lip balm.
Another product found in my collective haul that I just
couldn’t get enough of this month is the Soap& Glory Flake Away sugar scrub. I’ve used a few body scrubs from
The Body Shop, and I just think this one trumps them all. It leaves my skin
feeling like I’ve just moisturised it, probably because of the shea butter.
It’s quite thick and gives a really good scrub as well. I’ll definitely be
getting a large tub of this when I run out, though maybe after I use up the
other scrubs I have.
And the last love for this month is Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume. First off, that bottle is
beyond adorable and just so gorgeous to look at. But I love how fruity and
floral this scent is. It has notes of grapefruit, jasmine, lychee, pear and
musk to give a more sophisticated and grown up version of the original Daisy
perfume. Another thing I really like about this is that bottle is easy to hold,
so it’s easy to aim where I’m spraying the perfume. Yep, another point for
practicality winning over anything else.
That’s all for my favourites this month! I think I might
have a non-beauty favourites later in the month because there’s been quite a
few things that I’ve loved recently that just don’t mesh with everything else I
talk about. So look forward to that, and I seriously hope you all have a great
new year.
Here’s to 2015!
