If there's one brand that I feel is a little bit underrated, then it'd definitely be Bare Minerals. Everyone talks about how good Too Faced and Stila are, but Bare Minerals also puts out some really good quality products that just don't have as much hype on the internet as some of the other brands do.
For this year's Christmas sets, I chose The Regal Wardrobe eye and cheek palette, which has eight eyeshadows, two blushes, a highlight and a bronzer. The two blushes, The Summer Fling (peachy pink) and The Love Letter (natural mauve) are really creamy and subtle on the cheeks, as is the bronzer, The Skinny Dip. Similarly, the highlighter The Brilliant Sunset (golden peach) gives a subtle glow to the skin and is impossible to overdo. But the star of the show is really the eyeshadows. I always forget how incredible Bare Minerals eyeshadows are, and every time I use them I'm wowed. There's been a bit of a running theme with purple toned eyeshadows lately and this palette is no exception. They're all buttery and soft, but with gorgeous pigmentation. The metallics in particular pack a serious punch, and I love the look of these on the eyes.
I also picked up their Love at First Kiss set, which is ten mini's of their Marvelous Moxie lipsticks. Before I give a quick run down of the shades, I'll mention that I actually really like their lipsticks. They're all creamy and smooth, have good pigmentation and aren't drying at all. The one thing is that they all come in the same finish - creamy, so there's no variation there, and half of them have a golden microshimmer running through them. But if that's okay with you, let's get into the shades. Do It All is a light nude pink with gold shimmer, Make Your Move is a rosy nude with golden shimmer, Rise Up is a brown nude with gold shimmer, Go the Distance is a coral with golden shimmers in the bullet that don't show as much once applied, Get Ready is a creamy rose pink, Be Brilliant is a rosy mauve with a very strong golden shimmer running through it, Live Large is a rosy plum shade, Risk it All is raspberry pink, Hit the Mark is brick red and Lead the Way is a purple berry shade. Overall, they're great for someone who loves lipstick, or this formula and wants to collect them all. I'm singing the Pokemon theme song in my head...
