Monthly Favourites #11

Well, it's sure been a while since the last post. Life has just swallowed me up and I just haven't had the time to really do anything leisurely. But I'm back for now, bringing you my favourites for April! I can't believe I've been compiling these favourites for almost a year now. It feels like it's been forever, but at the same time like I just started this blog yesterday.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: I may have mentioned this in the original UD haul post, but this concealer was picked up on a whim. I didn't necessarily want it so badly that I was willing to line up for hours in front of the store for it. But my gosh is this concealer amazing. It's really creamy and easy to blend, and the little applicator picks up a lot of product, making it a little more hygenic as you don't need to keep dipping the brush back into the little tube. I've actually been using this as an all over foundation, covering all my blemishes or just anywhere needing a teensy bit more coverage. It just looks absolutely fabulous on the skin, and has great lasting power as well. Makes me tempted to pick up the actual foundation version...

Mac All That Glitters: I've had this eyeshadow for ages, so I can't believe I haven't mentioned it in a favourites until now! It's actually my very first Mac eyeshadow gifted to me by some friends on my birthday last year (thanks guys). Because I've been really lazy with my eye looks recently, I've taken to sweeping this colour all over my lids for a nice metallic wash of colour. It is a beautiful shade and has the most gorgeous finish. Looks like I'll need to be picking up some more of these.

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette: Like the concealer, I wasn't exactly planning on actually buying this. But one of the shop assistants managed to convince me to buy it and I’m glad she did! It’s a really nice cool toned neutral palette that can be used to create the nicest basic looks. I’ll probably have a little review with photos and swatches coming up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for that!

Maybelline Gel Liner in Brown: I dug through my stash for this. It's been a long time since I last used a gel liner. I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of them because it's a bit of a nightmare trying to keep the brush clean and I just don't want to spend the time and effort every morning to clean off my brush before using it. But for some reason I dusted this baby off and I really enjoyed it. It's quite easy to use, and still really creamy even though I've had this for ages. My liner has looked pretty damn good for the last month. Unfortunately, the liner isn't available in brown anymore in priceline, but it's still being sold oerseas,s o if you manage to get your hands on some, then lucky you!

The Balm Mary Lou-Maniser: I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Mary Lou-Maniser for as along as I can remember. It’s just a beautiful golden shimmer that seriously makes your face as glowy as it can get. The powder itself is also quite soft and a little bit goes a long way. And I love the compact packaging of it as well. Once again, I don't think you can buy The Balm products anymore at David Jones, which is quite devastating. You can still purchase them from Asos though.

Urban Decay Naked Lipgloss in Sesso: It's been a whole month of surprises. I'm not a lip gloss person. To be honest, I think the last time I used a lipgloss I was twelve and it was a cheap lipgloss that smelled like strawberries and had large glitter particles in it. But this one came in the Urban Decay On the Run set and just one morning I decided to try it out. I was not disappointed. The colour of this is gorgeous, like a muted rosy pink with little golden shimmers. It applies great thanks to a really good brush and the formula is really nice and smooth. It's a little tingly on the lips though - is it supposed to be plumping? And best of all it keeps my lips quite hydrated throughout the day, even after I've eaten and most of the gloss itself has actually come off.

Nars Kabuki Ita Brush: I think this brush has a cult following as large as Kim Kardashian herself. The ultimate contour brush, and since I think I look like the moon without cheekbones, I though it'd be a wise investment. Boy, was that a good decision. I'm not sure what it is about the actual brush, but it makes contouring dead easy. You can really work the product into the hollows of your cheeks and blend it our so that you've got the most flawless contour. Definitely worth it.

I'll try my best to keep on track with my update. In fact I think I have a few ideas for the next couple of posts, so hopefully you'll be seeing me soon!
