A Mask for Every Occasion | drAUGUSTore

The drugstore is an amazing place to find some really nice masks for a fraction of the price. So I've collated a list of what I think are the best masks from the drugstore!

The Breakout Clear Out Body Shop Tea Tree mask: For those oily days when the pimples are just popping up everywhere, I reach for the Body Shop Tea Tree mask. It has tea tree oil and kaolin clay to help absorb excess oil and clear impurities from the skin. The tea tree oil makes it really soothing and cooling on the skin, and I honestly find the scent quite calming as well. I tend to slather it on my face when I'm going through a particularly rough patch with my skin. If you had oilier skin, This would be a great mask to use regularly to keep the skin clear.

The Morning After Brightener — Rodial Super Acids X-Treme Hangover mask: Everyone has those days where you wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and you just think damn I look like a hot mess. That's when I pull out this mask. It's a great multi-tasking mask which helps cleanse, exfoliate and brighten the skin. With glycolic acid and extracts of pineapple, passionfruit, pomegranate and grape, to help with exfoliation and peptides to minimise the appearance of fine lines and minimise pores, it really sounds like a miracle product. One of the funnest things about this mask though, is that instead of washing it off, the mask is removed by gently rubbing it off when it's completely dried, leaving the skin feeling amazingly supple and restored. It may be a drugstore mask, but it's a pretty pricey one, so I definitely recommend waiting for an epic Priceline sale before trying this one out. But you won't be disappointed.

The Zit Zapping Hydrator — Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey mask: Hydration is a constant requirement for my skin, so I'm always on the lookout for something to keep my skin hydrated. The Antipodes Aura mask has manuka honey, which is known for its antibacterial properties, which would zap the pimples right off your face. It also helps draw moisture into the skin. I tend to slather on a thick layer of this at night after a clay mask to restore moisture to my skin. Sometimes I'll just apply a thin layer of this mask as my night moisturiser and I'll wake up with soft, hydrated skin. Like the Rodial mask, this one is pretty pricey, so I definitely recommend waiting for a sale, although unlike Rodial, Antipodes tends to go on sale a lot more often.

The Deep Clean Detoxer  Sanctuary Spa Five Minute Charcoal Thermal mask: Clay masks are excellent at detoxing and purifying the skin, drawing out impurites from the skin. I absolutely love the Sanctuary Sap Thermal mask. It's not scented or coloured, but it leaves the skin feeling silky soft after the mere five minutes it needs on your skin. It's also really fun to apply. The mask is applied on damp skin and has a very notieable reaction with the water, heating the skin and making it feel super nice and warm, which helps open the pores and let the kaolin clay penetrate deep into the pores. It also has essential oils so that it'snot completely stripping. After this mask, my skin looks and feels tighter and clearer.

I hope you got some good suggestions out of this. If you've tried any drugstore masks, definitely let me know what you've tried. I do like trying new ones!
