Wow there's activity on this blog, where have I been the last 3 months? To be completely honest, I'm not too sure what happened. Life happened, so let's do a quick catch up. I turned 20, went on clinical placement, got swamped by essays and then got swamped by exams. And somewhere inbetween I bought a few new bits and found a few new things to love, so here's a bit of a cumulative review/favourites/notable bits to get us back into the habit of blogging.
Shu Uemura Lash Curler: I caved and bought a new lash curler because I just wanted to know what all the fuss was about. I mean, how can these lash curlers make such a difference? I was wrong, these lash curlers are amazing. They fit the curve of my eye really well which makes grabbing every lash easy. That's no easy feat when you have asian eyes with barely any lashes to grab. They also do a lot better at actually curling the lashes.
Beauty Blender: Along the same vein as the lash curler, the Beauty Blender wowed me. It's miles ahead of the Realt Techniques sponge, which they've called a dupe. But I just cannot compare them, it's honestly a game changer when it comes to foundation application. I cannot rave enough.
It Cosmetics CC Cream in Light: I'm going to be doing a bit of a review later in the month (I will I promise!), so I won't rave too much here. To sum it up quickly, it's long wearing, moisturising and insanely pigmented.
By Terry Ombre Blackstar: I won't lie, I almost cried when I bought these, they're that expensive. But the product itself is amazing. So creamy and blendable, but also so pigmented as well. You really can do a light wash over the lid, or seriously pack that colour on for some major impact. I have it in Bronze Moon, a metallic bronze, and Misty Rock, a metallic lilac taupe shade, and I adore them both.
Marc Jacobs Lolita Palette: Thanks to another wonder friend of mine, I have this stunning palette that has rocked my world. That packaging is so incredibly luxurious, it even comes in its own little pouch! The shadows themselves are buttery, pigmented and beautiful to work with. It has rocketed up my list of favourite palettes.
Stila Fields of Florals Convertible Colour palette: I'm not the biggest fan of cream products, but recently I've tried giving this palette a go, and I really love it. It gives a nice flush to the skin but with a more natural finish than powder blushes do. It's especially good for the spring and summer as well as they give a bit more of a natural, dewy look. I don't think the palette is available any longer, but the individual Colour Convertibles are, which I have a few of.
Mac Mineralised Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle: I've actually had this for more than a year, and for a period of time, i really didn't like it. Then one day, I just felt the need to try it out and boy was that a good decision. I love that it's quite a warm golden highlighter, and though it does have a tinny bit of chunky glitter in it, it does look really gorgeous and glowy on the skin. It's probably going to be one of my absolute must haves for the summer.
Mac Lip Pencil in Dervish: I've never really been into lip liners, but I really wanted to give them a go. Mac Dervish is an incredibly natural pink colour that's really similar to my natural lip colour, but a little richer. I love that it makes my lips look super plump, especially if I overline them a tad. I cannot rave enough!
So those a quick review of the few beauty bits I've been loving over the last few months. I'm going back to drowning in exams (I have one in three hours and I'm nowhere near ready for it), and I'll see you all soon. Though it may be in a week's time.
