Peace for Paris

Jean Jullien (2015) Peace for Paris
Let us pray for peace, not only in Paris, but in all cities around the world where its citizens are experiencing fear and terror as a daily part of their lives. We are all people and we all bleed the same blood. There is no place for persecution in any of our societies, and only through acceptance and respect can we live peacefully. There is no freedom in the condemnation of another to further our own selfish interests.

Let us pay our respects for the 129 lives lost in Paris. Your passing has been felt all around the world and we all dearly pray for you, your families and friends and your city, to pull through this barbarity and come out the other side stronger and more united than before. Together in the face of tragedy we will stand above it and rise to greater heights.

Let us remember the hundred of other lives lost on the 13th November 2015. Remember to pray for Beirut, for Baghdad, for Japan and Brazil, and all the other people around the world who have experience incredible suffering over the last day. Your suffering has been felt all around the world, and we cry with and for you.

Let us pray for peace.
