I don't talk about nail polishes a lot, which is funny because I really love them. And my favourite brand comes from the drugstore, so why not talk about them during drAUGUSTore!
In my opinion, Essie nail polishes are iconic. They're relatively affordable and come in about 101 colours, with limited edition ones being released nearly every season. They last pretty long on my nails as well without chipping. Some of my nails can last about a week with just minor wear at the tips. Most of them are also wonderfully opaque, and if you're in a hurry one coat is satisfactory. I still like to do two coats though, for extra opacity. The cap is really easy to hold and they also have a new brush which is nice and wide and flat that makes it dead easy for a precise application. Really, it's pretty hard to mess up with this one.
Another little thing I like about them is that the name of the shade is printed on a little sticker on the top of the cap. It makes it really easy for me to find which polish I'm after when I have them stored in my little tray. Okay I admit, that's a little pedantic, but I'm strange like that.
Since I love them so much, I thought I'd share some of my favourites.
Sand Tropez: a sandy, greigy beige
Maximillian Strasse-Her: a pale, greigy mint shade
Lapiz of Luxury: a pastel, lilac-leaning blue
Splash of Grenadine: a bright magenta pink
Sole Mate: a deep, reddish plum
I have absolutely no plans to stop buying Essie polishes, and if you haven't given them a go, I absolutely recommend them.
