Best of the Brand: Revlon

This one has been a long time coming. Revlon used to be my favourite drugstore brand. I’m not too sure anymore. It’s still brilliant but some of the other brands have seriously been upping their game recently. I just can’t decide!

  1. Nearly Naked Foundation: Probably one of the best foundations at the drugstore. It’s lightweight and has nice light coverage with a dewy finish. It’s one of those foundation that’s dead easy to apply and very difficult to get wrong. Only problem is the lack of a pump.  If they put a pump on the bottle design, this product would be flawless.
  2. Photoready CreamBlush: It’s been a while since I’ve even though about cream blushes, but when I was digging through my drawers for Revlon product, I came across this beauty. The product itself looks ridiculously bright, but sheers out beautifully on the cheeks for just a hint of colour. The formula itself is more of a cream to powder finish and is just super easy to use. This little pot will probably last you a lifetime. The tiniest amount is enough for gorgeous flushed cheeks.
  3. Colourstay MoistureStain: You may be able to tell that I adore Revlon lip products. That’s why there are three of them in this list. The Moisture Stains are quite unique. I haven’t really seen anything quite like them. The product itself is quite unique in the fact that it’s marketed as a glossy stain. It’s a great alternative for gloss if you’re not a huge fan of how thick gloss can be.
  4. Colourburst Lip Butters: These had a HUGE hype around them when they were released few years ago, and for good reason too. They’re hydrating on the lips and provide a really nice touch of colour as well. Some of the darker or brighter colours have a serious amount of pigment to them, but there are also some more natural and sheerer shades as well.
  5. Colourburst Matte Balm: And finally for my absolute favourite product from Revlon, and possibly my favourite lip product ever. The Revlon Matte Moisture Balms. These are just fabulous. They’re hydrating, they’re pigmented, and they’re easy to apply. It’s the perfect matte product if your lips are a little dry and difficult to deal with. These are absolute perfection.

And for runner ups! The JustBitten Kissable Balm Stains (especially Honey), that were the predecessors for the matte balm are also really good. I feel they provide a lot more hydration to the lips and just last for ages on the lips. Another love of mine is the Brow Fantasy in Dark Brown, which I use on days when I feel like I just need a quick brush of colour through my brows. It comes with a pencil and a brush and is one of the best brow products you can get from the drugstore. I also really like the Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light, which is a soft golden liquid illuminator which can be used as an all over illuminating primer or just a highlight for the high points on your face.

Do I have any more of these lined up? Possibly one more, but we’ll see after I give everything a little bit more a go. Until next time!
