A Ridiculously Affordable Priceline Haul

When Priceline has a 40% off sale, all the girls come running. Me included. Here’s a few things I picked up (at 8:30 in the morning right before being late to uni).

You’ll notice a common theme throughout my purchases; everything’s been hyped by a blogger. Unfortunately living in Australia where all the beauty drops come late, I seem to know a lot about product before they hit the shelves, so I don’t try anything I’ve heard isn’t too great. Hey, I’m a uni student on a budget. SO I’ll just buy things that I’ve heard good things about. Or any random impulse things I see along the way.

Let’s kick this haul off with the Maxfactor Facefinity All Day Primer. It’s just a clear silicone primer with an SPF 20, but it doesn’t have the heavy pore blurring qualities of most silicone primers. It’s just to keep makeup on your face.

Adding to the seriously growing collection of foundations is the Maxfactor Skin Luminizer Foundation in 55 Beige. As you might be able to tell from the name, it’s an illuminating foundation with no SPF, so it’s perfect for photography and to pair with that primer I just mentioned… Regardless, the texture is quite thick, but easy to blend and looks really gorgeous and dewy on the skin.At least on the skin on the back of my hand.

Another foundation is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundationin 200 Soft Beige. This is the newly formulated version version of an older Rimmel foundation, but I love the sorta-semi-not-really-kinda dewy finish it leaves and the medium coverage. To me, Rimmel has a great track record with foundations so let’s see how this one measures up

You might be able to tell I’m really trying to get my hands on some more Maxfactor products. The brand is quite up there on the high end of the drugstore price end, so to be completely honest, I really haven’t ventured into the realm of Maxfactor all that often. But this on caught my eye. The new Crème Puff Blush in 05 Lovely Pink looks like the Hourglass Ambient Lighting blushes, and the colour of this shade in particular is reminiscent of the cult Nars Orgasm. I also heard some great things about this blush from Amelia Liana, and she has great blush taste, so I had to give this a go. A few of the other shades look like dead ringers of the Hourglass blushes. My dupe sense are tingling!

Another seriously hyped purchase is the L’Oreal SilkissmeEyeliner in 01 Seductive Black. Quite honestly, I only bought this is because I just ran out of my Stila one and I needed another black eyeliner. But I’ve read and heard great things about the Silkissme liners before, so here’s hoping! I’m  pretty sure they’re only recently released and only come in two shades: black and dark brown.

My beloved Bourjois lip crayon has finally come out with a nude-ish shade to add to their collection. The  Colour Burst Lip Crayon in 07Proudly Naked has become another one of my lip crayons in a natural pinky brown nude shade for my lips. I’m very excited to try this out.

I finally managed to get my hands on the last shade I wanted from the Maybelline Colour Drama Lipsticks which I mentioned in a post here. The shade 140 Minimalist looks like a perfect nude, and if it’s anything like its bolder counterparts, I will love this.

And finally, I got my hands on some Essie. I do love a good Essie nail polish, and sale time is a good chance to pick up a lot more than you’ll ever need.  I bought Sand Tropez (beige nude), Sole Mate (dark, almost black berry), Maximillian Strasse Her (dusky teal) and Mint Candy Apple (pale mint). Most of these I’ve been eyeing for ages, so I’m really happy to pick them up. I’ll probably be painting my nails with one of these shades by the end of day.

As with most of my products, I’ll be posting a few reviews of the products I enjoyed when I’ve had a chance to look at them. On another note, Urban Decay opening tomorrow?! Hell yes!
