While I
am a lover of drugstore foundations, I thought it’d be nice to invest in
something that sits on my skin everyday. So I caved into the temptation to buy
Nars Sheer Glow.
It comes
in this cute square bottle with rounded corners with a soft matte lid like all
other Nars products. It doesn’t come with a pump but you can buy one
separately for $4. The thing is, once you put the pump on, you can’t fit the lid back
on. Not sure why they’d design it like that. It’s a bit silly, but it’s not a
dealbreaker.
Mine is
in the colour Punjab. I feel it is a teensy bit too dark for my pasty winter skin,
but some summer I’m sure the colour will be fine. It comes in a huge shade
range (14 to be exact) with a good variety of undertones and shades from super pale to quite dark. The finish isn't exactly dewy, but it's definitely not matte with a bit of a sheen to it. It glides over dry patches an is quite hydrating as well; you don't feel like it's sucking the moisture out of your skin. The coverage can be made quite sheer, but it's definitely buildable, probably to a medium to full coverage, leaning towards the medium side. It's a very lightweight formula, even after you build it up and you can barely feel it on the skin.
Wear time on me is quite long. I can definitely wear this all day and come home to a relatively all there face, even if it's started to fade in a few places. If you had oily skin, it'd probably be good to keep some powder or blotting papers on hand as it does tend to get a teensy bit shiny throughout the day, but it's nothing my dry skin cannot handle.
I have to admit, this has to be my favourite foundation that I own. It's the first thing I pull out when I'm having a bad skin day, or just a bad day in general and I want a pick me up because I know it's going to make my skin look fabulous, no matter what condition it's in. I highly HIGHLY recommend this. Go pick yourself up a bottle. Just do it. You can pick it up for $59 from Mecca.
