The Eyeliner Edit

I have to admit, I'm one of those people who likes to leave the house with eyeliner on, and preferably a heap tonne of it. Very rarely will I have no eyeliner on, and usually the only reason I'll have no eyeliner is because I slept in and didn't have time to do my face that morning. Even then, I bring one with me for those situations. So let's go into my beloved eyeliners.

On a daily basis, I am a liquid liner girl. I know many people find it difficult to work with and if you're a beginner it is a little tough, but like everyone else, I started off horribly and progressively got better and better until I can do a normal lined eye in a few quick strokes. My favourite one is the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner. For everyday occasions, I usually go for the one in Dark Brown which gives a nice subtle definition without looking too harsh. And then for more exciting things, I use the one in Intense Black, and it really lives up to the name. The tip is nice and fine so it's really easy to get a nice and precise line with sharp edges. And it is incredibly long lasting; I've played intense games of basketball/netball with this liner on and it hasn't budged. I think a good drugstore pen liner is the Maybelline one. It's not as intense as the Stila one, and the lasting power is not comparable, but it has a similar felt tip and shapewise, it's basically identical.

My trick for eyeliner is to always line the tightline because it gives the impression of fuller lashes. I use the Stila Stay All Day Smudgestick in Stingray because it stays on my lashline and doesn't transfer down onto the waterline. Sometimes I'll bust out the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Liner in Baclk Market to do it instead, but it really depends on my mood. I also use pencil liners when I decide to get creative with colours for my eyeliner. The Urban Decay liners came in a set with some other smoky colours that are just a little different, like olive green and gunmetal. I also have the Stila liners a whole heap of other colours. Both these liners are super creamy and are so smooth to apply. They're seriously long lasting, but they also give a little bit of time for smudging if that's what you want, before setting.

Sometimes, but not too often, I use gel eyeliner. I find that I only gravitate towards this when I have a lot of time. It's funny because for a period of time I couldn't work out how to use liquid eyeliner and swore by this gel liner. The one I have is the Maybelline Gel Liner. Don't be fooled by the pretty packaging, I bought mine overseas, I use this with a few brushes; I don't really know which one I like the most. I use either the Sigma Angled brush, the Real Techniques Pixel Point eyeliner brush or the Models Prefer Angled Liner brush. I feel that with the angled brush I can get the thinnest line, but I like the easy of application with the Models Prefer one, and the Real Techniques deposits a lot a colour in one swipe. Moving back onto the actual product itself, I think it's one of the best gel liners you can get in store. I've heard the Essence one is good, but I just love the ones I have. They're really creamy and really pigmented and there is a lot of product in one of these little jars. I still haven't hit the bottom of it. I also have it in Dark Brown and Charcoal, but I'm not sure they still stock it anymore. I haven't seen it in stores recently.

For when I'm feeling a little adventurous, I actually use my Maybelline Color Tattoos as eyeliners. They come in a variety of different colours have a nice sparkly or metallic finish. They're really nice and pigmented, but are a little dry and do drag a little bit. But if you get over that, you can really get a nice thick line with a bit of a colourful twist. Usually I go with Electric Blue or Pomegranate because they're unique colours.

And the final eyeliner I use is a nude one in the waterline. It really opens up the eye without being as stark as a white liner. I use the Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in Nude to get that brightening effect and it's pretty dirt cheap too. They also have it in other colours too, and work quite well as regular pencil eyeliners as well.

That's all my liners! Well nearly, but that's enough about eyeliners. Let me know what you love and I'll be sure to check them out. Until next time!
