Five Spring Trends To Try

Hooray it’s spring! Finally the gloom of winter has left us behind and we can look forward to nice sunshiney weather and blooming flowers and newborn birds chirping. Finally the weather has caught up with the season, and now it's getting super warm. Now is the time to try out some new spring beauty trends! At least the ones that were popping up in a few articles that I googled. Because let’s face it, I’m not a leading beauty expert and I definitely do not have my finger on the pulse of the beauty world.

Natural Makeup: Finally there's a trend that tells us to embrace our own skin, no matter how crappy it is. This season is all about the barely there skin.Think dewy with some imperfections showing through, like freckles. Go with a light tinted moisturiser or BB cream to give a light wash of coverage to the skin, while still looking like your skin. If you're just looking to cover a couple of dark circles or a little bit of hyper-pigmentation, a nice concealer should do the job.

Bright Orange Lip: I have to admit, I absolutely adore orange lips. I think it’s a beautiful colour that looks good on a lot of different skin tones, but at the same time it’s a little different and quirky. I also think orange lips are a great spring or summer colour that’s super fun to try out. I think they also perk up the complexion and make you look a little more lively and awake. If you're not feeling brave enough, try an orange lip tint or a sheer lip balm. If you're feeling adventurous, rock a  bright orange lip to your next spring party, there won't be too many of those around.

Graphic Liner: Turn on your eyeliner game, graphic liner is back. Go bold and draw a thick cateye, or a graphic design. Maybe create a cut crease with your favourite black liner. Another option is to experiment with coloured liners. Think bright fun colours for spring. Perhaps you could experiment with lining the waterline, if that's not something you do already. Either way, try something a little new and a little fun with your eyeliner, or if you're not an eyeliner person, try smudging a dark shadow into the lashline for some subtle definition.

Bronzed Everything: Bronzed skin and gilded lids is where it's at this season. A nice sweep of bronzer over the skin will warm up the complexion and give that nice glow all ready for the summer. Or go with the a sweep of bronze shadow over the lid, or even a bronze eyeliner smudged into the lashline for a more subtle effect. If you're up for something dramatic, pack on a metallic bronze shadow on the lid for a gilded effect.

Blue Eyes: So while the rest of trends are quite wearable, to me, this is the most adventurous trend, but also the most versatile. You could go with a wash of colour over the lids, a little pop of blue liner on the lower lashline, a thick bold blue cat eye (which I really want to try out now that I think about it). And there are so many shades of blue to go for. There are bright blue options or pastel blues or a more subdued colour like navy for something a little more wearable.

Let's all venture out of our comfort zone and try something a little more adventurous this spring. Who knows, maybe you'll find something you really like!
