More lipsticks! This is the Too Faced Under the Mistletoe Lipstick Trio. There are three full sized and limited edition shades encased in this glittery pink pouch. The pouch itself is nothing spectacular. It's quite stiff and the glitter bits are just dropping everywhere. I've been vacuuming glitter off the floor ever since I got it. The lipsticks though are fabulous. The packaging feels really sturdy and secure. It's this heavy metallic gold packaging with a very secure gold lid with a satisfyingly tight close. It's definitely weird to be this excited about that.
Moving right along, the three shades are Shimmering Naked Dolly (satin pink), Shimmering Marshmallow Bunny (marshmallow pink) and Shimmering Spice Spice Baby (spiced pink). These are shimmery versions of Too Faced's most popular neutral lipsticks. It might not me too visible in the photo, but these are seriously shimmery. They almost look metallic on the lips, especially Naked Dolly which seems to have a more noticeable gold shimmer running through it. Spice Spice Baby is probably the least shimmery of the three, with the little microshimmers in there giving more of a 3D look than a foiled lip look. However the texture is really thick and creamy and they feel really nice and nourishing on the lips. It is a little bit grainy, but not something too frustrating. I feel like the pigmentation on these were not too great and a bit disappointing compared to the standard lipsticks.
I think overall that these were a bit of a miss. While I do like them, and the value is pretty great, the amount of shimmer in them really overwhelms me. I think it'd be more worth it checking out the original lipsticks from Too Faced, since those are amazing, and give this set a pass. The trio retails for $38 at Mecca.
