And we welcome the end of October. Can you believe the year is almost over? It's unbelievable. I just don't know where the year has gone. Back to monthly favourites, this is what I've been loving for the month of October.
With the weather heating up, I haven't really felt the need to slather on thick layers of foundation. Lately I've been reaching for my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Nude as I feel it give enough coverage to make sure my skin looks passable (and only passable because my skin is crap) and it gives an SPF 15 to protect my skin from the sun in the summertime. It also feels quite moisturising on my skin because it is a moisturiser, so if you're in a hurry it can also replace the last step in your skincare routine.
To make sure that's not sliding off my face, I've been using some of the Hourglass Veil Primer. It's not a silicone primer and I think it gives a nice boost of hydration to the skin. It also makes whatever goes on top go on really smooth. Now that was a eloquent sentence. Anyway, it works wonders as a primer and I don't find my makeup sliding off my face at the end of the day, or cracking partway through it.
For my skin, I've really been loving the Origins GinZing refreshing eye cream. It's leaves a little bit of a tingly feeling under my eyes as it's supposed to combat dark circles and puffiness. It also has a bit of shimmer in it for a highlighting effect, which I think is just so cool. So it brightens to eyes up and makes me look more alive and awake in the mornings when I feel groggy as hell. And let's face it; that's everyday.
On my eyes, I've been using the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Eyeshadow in Beach Sand, which is a cool toned metallic brown. It's so beautiful and once it's on the eyes, it just doesn't budge. Unless you walk under a waterfall (it's not waterproof). I'll have a review up for this up soon so i won't say too much about it here.
The mascara I've been loving this month, and for the last few months as well, is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I can't remember if I've mentioned it before because I've had it for ages, but it seems to give really amazing lashes. It's not the best at holding a curl on my lashes because the formula is quite wet. I have to work to make it hold. The brush also tends to pick up a lot of product and you'll need to wipe it down to not get incredibly clumpy lashes. Other than that it does give a really lovely effect.
For blush, I've gone with a cult favourite. I've been reaching for my Nars Orgasm blush so often this month. I think it gives the perfect peachy pink flush to the cheeks with the right amount of gold shimmer in it that I can forgo highlighter if I feel like it. It lasts for ages on my skin and it just looks so flattering. Don't have enough good things to say about this and I really need to pick up more shades.
My last favourite is my very first mention of a hair styling product. Hooray for blog growth! This is the VO5 Give Me Texture dry texturising spray. I use it to give my hair some body when it's feeling really limp and flat. I loveit especially when I have my hair curled and I feel like the effect lasts for ages. Even better, it is super cheap. Not over $10. That's a winner in my book.
That's all for this month! Let me know what you've been loving this month. I desperately want recommendations. Until next time.
