Smashbox On The Rocks Be Legendary Lipstick Trio Review

The first little limited edition Christmas set I'll review is this Smashbox Be Legendary lipstick trio from their Christmas collection, On The Rocks. It's a set of three mini sized lipsticks from their Be Legendary range. 

The packaging of these is nothing special; they a sturdy plastic material and the lid clips on securely and the scent of these is similar to the scent of MAC lipsticks, but nowhere near as strong. 

The shades in this trio are Primrose (mauve pink), Fig (red grape) and Legendary (true red). The finish of these is quite creamy and each of the shades has a bit of microshimmer in them to give the lips some dimension, but it's hardly noticeable when applied. The texture is also really nice and smooth which makes it easy to apply and it doesn't drag across the lips either. It doesn't apply as pigmented as it looks in the bullet with the shade coming out a little more sheer, but the colour can be built up to the desired opacity. 

Overall the lipsticks are a great introduction into the Smashbox range. If you're interested in trying any Smashbox lipsticks without the commitment, this is a good buy. The set retails at $25, costing less than an full sized lipstick. I'm not sure if I'd buy any more, just because I have a million lip products, but I am definitely tempted to check out a few of their other shades.
