Winter Lipstick Favourites

I should probably go ahead and clarify myself. Wintertime is my excuse to whip out out the dark and vampy lipstick and go to town with it. I feel that with the hot Australian sun, there is no way I could pull off a berry lip without looking and feeling a little bit too goth. So onwards with my favourite berry lipsticks!

My go-to dark lip is the Revlon Super Lustrous in Black Cherry. Don't you just love the packaging? It was in the Revlon by Marchesa line and when I saw the packaging I just died. It's just so girly and elegant. Moving on to the actual product. The lipstick itself is really nice and smooth. It's not drying and is very easy to apply. It has great pigmentation and lasts for a decent amount of time though I'm not terribly fussy about staying power as usually, I don't really mind reapplication. When the lipstick wears off, it leaves a nice berry stain on the lips. Nothing too dramatic, but it's nice. Onto a different note though, HAS IT BEEN DISCONTINUED? Or was it limited edition because of the Marchesa Line? I can't seem to find it anywhere, so I'm sorry. I linked na Amazon post where you can find it though.

My other deep berry love is the Rimmel by Kate Moss Matte Finish lipstick in 107. Unlike Black Cherry, this one is matte and a little more red toned. It's still really nice and pigmented. Because it's matte it is a little dry and I feel it does drag a little bit but when the colour is on, is stays there.

When my lips aren't really up to the challenge but I still want a nice dark lip, I go for my Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Grand Cru. I did a post not too long ago here detailing the beauty of this lip cream and I stand by it. It's amazing and wonderful and just oh my god.

On a different vein, when my lips are feeling dry and I feel like I need constant moisture, I go for my Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet. It's definitely not as berry/purple toned as Black Cherry, but it's a lot less maintenance (in the aspect of application) as I don't need to worry if it's out of my lip line a little. It's also very moisturising, as I'm sure everyone knows, so if my lips are feeling a little dry and I feel my lipstick is emphasising any dry patches, this really gives me the moisture I want, without giving out on the colour aspect.

And the other thing I love when I need a little berry lip in my look is the Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick in Plum Russian. I won't go too into detail because I plan on having a review come up soon, but these are phenomenal. Some of the best jumbo lip pencils there are.

And those are my dark berry lipsticks that I reach for! Let me know what you adore, and I'll definitely go check them out.
