Maybelline Better Skin Foundation and Concealer Review

I've been testing out the Maybelline Better Skin foundation and concealer for a little while now and I think it's time to give my thoughts.

Let's start with the concealer. It comes in this little plastic tube with a slanted plastic nib. There's this hole in the centre so when you squeeze the product it comes through, sort of like a lip gloss actually. I personally hate this packaging. I thick it feels cheap and it's quite annoying to apply. I just squeeze the product out onto my fingertips and pat it onto the skin.

Now while I hate the packaging, the product itself is pretty good. It's quite creamy and easy blendable. The coverage is great, and it doesn't crease either. It's also great to use for both under the eyes and for spot concealing. I've actually read somewhere that the consistency and finish is similar to the MAC Pro Longwear concealer. The only down side is there are only two shades available, light and medium, but with a drugstore product, I suppose that's the be expected.

I found that for the foundation, the packaging was much better. It comes in the glass bottle with a blue plastic pump and a clear plastic cap. I always do appreciate a foundation with a pump. For the foundation itself, I found it to give a medium coverage but it can be built up to full coverage. It layers quite well and gives a semi-matte finish. It also lasts for ages on the skin.
Both these products are supposed to be vitamin enriched to improve skin appearance and leave it looking healthier. I honestly did notice an improvement in my skin. But at the same time I have been changing up my skincare regime as well, so I can't say for certain. I definitely wouldn't tell you to forgo that routine, but if you needed a little bit of an extra boost, this foundation could help.

Overall, I think this is a great drugstore foundation if you're someone who likes fuller coverage foundations. It's long lasting and has a great finish that doesn't look too cakey. Who knows if the foundation actually does improve your skin, but let's face it, I barely ever use the same foundation two days in a row, so realistically, I'll never see the skin improvement effects. Still really like it though!
