Monthly Favourites #10

I almost entirely forgot about this month's favourites. Possibly because it took me a while to straggle together a little collection of products to talk about. It certainly doesn’t look very small does it? With uni starting and a lot of 9am starts, there's just been no time to put on makeup. And let's face it, I'd rather sleep for an extra half hour. But I've tried to make myself look presentable each morning, so that's what I'll mention this month.

VO5 Plump It Up Dry Shampoo: My hair has been on the crazy side of terrible recently. It's been flat and oily and just plain uncooperative. But this dry shampoo has been a bit of a lifesaver. It gives a heap of volume and texture to my hair, as well of getting rid of that nasty excess oil. And unlike other dry shampoos it doesn't give me that terrible gritty or heavy feeling at the end of the day. It also has a really nice scent. I can't put my finger on it, but I prefer this scent to any other dry shampoo I've tried.

Bourjois Perfect CC Cream in 32 Beige Clair: To be quite honest, I never bought into the BB/CC cream thing. I tried to, but most of the products tended to be too much like a tinted moisturiser but without the tint. That and I'm quite dark for an asian, so it's not the easiest trying to find an asian BB cream that matches and doesn't say whitening on the package. The Bourjois offering is unlike anything I've ever tried. It's actually colour correcting and has a surprising amount of coverage. It also glides over the dry patches on my skin. I've been loving applying it with my Louise Young LY34 Brush which just gives the most flawless finish with as little effort as possible. Thumbs up for laziness.

Maybelline Better Skin Concealer in 02 Light: I most definitely have mentioned this in a favourites post before, but I recently picked it up again. It makes me wonder why I ever stopped using it in the first place. The concealer is so easy to blend and does a pretty good job getting rid of my ridiculous dark circles from my lack of beauty sleep. I’ll link my review here. I've been applying my concealer with the Real Techniques Setting Brush and it's just flawless.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Black Market: Sadly, my wonderful Stila Smudge Stick in Stingray had it’s last swipe this month, and I’ve moved onto this Urban Decay offering. It’s not as black as the Stila eyeliner, but it does last on the eyes for a longer without smudging. I think the blackness issue may just be the shade, so I may look into the other black shades in the 24/7 range. It’s funny how they have more than one. Either way, I think the Black Market shade is limited edition, so when it's gone I'll need another one.

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in 01 Curviest Caramel: I can't remember if I've even mentioned this on this blog before. I feel like I have since it's one of my all time favourite lip products, but when I look back, I don't think I have. Strange. Either way, this may be one of my all time favourite lip products. It’s a no brainer and a very good no mirror lipstick. The colour is also absolutely perfect for my skin. It’s nude, but not concealer nude. It’s pink but not too pink, and it’s also has just a little hint of brown to keep the Kylie Jenner lip fans happy.

Essie Nail Polish in Berry Naughty: Nail polish has become a huge thing for me recently. It may be because I feel like my nails have finally hit the point where they’re able to sustain a good coating of polish. That and I’ve been waiting to crack out the dark polishes since the beginning of summer when all the British beauty gurus were hitting the dead of winter! Berry Naughty is a deep dark red that looks almost black in some lights, but almost like wine in others. The polish is also seriously easy to apply and dries pretty quickly as well. Got to love me some Essie.

And that’s the favourites for March! You’ll see me again soon. Let me know what you’ve been loving because I obviously need to try more makeup.
