Sometimes there just isn't enough to say about something to write
a whole blog post on. So I think I may start doing some little mini reviews
bunched together to give a lot of thoughts in one go.
Recently you may have seen in that Priceline haul that I picked up
a few new things from the drugstore. I’ve given them all a go and here are some
random thoughts on them.
Maxfactor Facefinity All Day Primer: There's really nothing to fault about this primer. It's nice a lightweight on the skin, doesn't break me out and does what it's supposed to do, keep my makeup on all day. It's not a pore perfecting primer, but has a consistency quite similar to the Hourglass Veil Primer, but about half the price.
Maxfactor Skin Luminizer Foundation in 55 Beige: A surprisingly thick foundation, which I thought would be quite heavy and cakey on my skin, but the luminiser really comes through. The finish isn't dewy, more of a satin finish which is quite flattering on both oily and matte skin. It's medium coverage, but can be built up to full coverage if that's what floats your boat. It's also really easy to apply and lasts quite well on my skin without getting greasy, which is again surprising. I really enjoyed this foundation and I think it'll be perfect for the upcoming winter.
Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink: The name bothers me. It’s
quite misleading, even though I knew it was a powder blush. Application wise is beautiful. It applies wonderfully ad has a texture that is almost like the Hourglass blush that it almost resembles. This blush is quite a bit firmer and grainier and doesn't give that inner glow finish, but it's still a beautiful blush that gives a similar effect. It's a little less pigmented than I thought it would be though.
L'Oreal Silkissme Liner in 601 Seductive Black: The liner itself is very very matte
black, which is a huge plus in my books. It applies really smoothly onto the
eyes, but it also sets almost instantly. There’s no room for error with this
liner and it is seriously budgeproof, even in the waterline. If you’re looking for something that’s very
longwearing, almost to the point of difficult to remove, this is your liner.
Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in Proudly Naked: The exact colour doesn't seem to be available on the Priceline website, but trust me when I say it's definitely in stock. Finally, a colour
boost lip crayon in a neutral colour. This is what I’ve been dreaming of.
Formula wise, it’s the same as the ones from before, and I do love it. It’s a
little pink on my lips but it’ll look very natural for anyone a little paler
than me. A handbag staple for easy, slap-on application and an instant pick-me-up.
